Thanks very much for visiting my site. Throughout my life, drawing and painting have been among the most rewarding things I do. I was gifted with a mother who had a keen appreciation for classical music and art. She reinforced the beauty and importance of those things since I was a small child and is the one who first helped me appreciate the absolute beauty of a sunrise, a sunset, or the intricate design of leaves on a tree.
I have been painting for over thirty years and have been lucky to encounter the teachers I needed at just the right time. I owe them my thanks and still enjoy the beauty, skill and dedication with which they approach the art. Their work inspires me.
Twenty five years ago when I was exhibiting at shows in the northeast, I learned so much from the people I met. They told me what they liked, how they viewed art and how they viewed my art. Their insight and healthy criticism that helped me grow and develop over the years.
I work almost exclusively in oil on canvas and love the ability to blend the colors over hours and mold a scene. The beauty of the southwestern landscape (my home has been in Arizona for the last 15 years) opened entirely new possibilities for me. The richness and life of the desert has been a surprise. The desert in bloom is something everyone should see. The constantly changing light on the mountains gives you something new every hour.
I hope you enjoy my work. I welcome your comments. I will be adding new work regularly, so please check back and see what’s new!
My best to you.
